We are proud to offer one of the most complete L.A.B. Golf demo and fitting selections in the South West, giving golfers the chance to test a wide range of heads, shaft options, lie angles, lengths, grips and build styles before making a decision.
Whether you are interested in the DF3, Mezz.1, Mezz.1 Max, OZ.1, OZ.1i, LINK, VZN.1i or DF2.1, the fitting is built around finding the model that gives you the best blend of performance, feel, start line control and confidence.
This is not a quick static measurement. It is a full fitting process where we look at how you actually putt.
Why L.A.B. Golf?
L.A.B. stands for Lie Angle Balance, and the idea behind the technology is simple: reduce unwanted twisting of the putter head so the player can control the face and path more consistently.
In a traditional putter, the toe can rotate during the stroke, which means the golfer often has to work harder to return the face square at impact. L.A.B. Golf putters are designed to reduce that unwanted torque, helping the putter stay more stable throughout the stroke.
For many golfers, this can help with two of the biggest putting problems:
Start line control — getting the ball started closer to where you are aiming.
Roll quality — launching the ball correctly and creating better forward roll.
The goal is not just to sell you a putter. The goal is to find a putter that feels natural, sits correctly, matches your stroke and gives you more confidence on the greens.
What happens during a L.A.B. putter fitting?
A proper L.A.B. fitting is a conversation between the player and the fitter. At every stage, your feedback matters.
We look at what you like to see behind the ball, how the putter feels, what your common miss is, how you control pace and how different head shapes and stability profiles influence your stroke.
During the session we will look at:
Your current putter and how well it fits you
Your setup, posture, eye position and ball position
Your stroke path and face control
Your start line tendencies
Your pace control and strike pattern
The head shape and stability level that suits you best
The correct length and lie angle
Shaft lean options
Grip style and effective loft
Shaft feel and performance
Roll quality and launch
This means the recommendation is based on both performance and preference.
Finding the right L.A.B. putter head
One of the biggest benefits of having a large L.A.B. demo selection is that you can test different stability profiles properly.
Every L.A.B. putter is built around Lie Angle Balance and zero torque principles, but the heads are not all the same. Some players perform better with less stability because they like to feel and release the putter. Others benefit from a higher stability head that helps resist unwanted manipulation.
During the fitting, we can test models in order of stability, including:
LINK
A more traditional-looking blade-style option with lower stability. Often suited to players who already have strong face awareness and like to feel they can control the putter.
Mezz.1
A compact, stable option that gives more help than a traditional blade while still offering a clean shape.
Mezz.1 Max
A more stable version of the Mezz.1, offering extra forgiveness and resistance to twisting.
OZ.1 / OZ.1i
A modern mallet option with a softer feel in the OZ.1 and more feedback from the insert in the OZ.1i. These can also suit players who prefer a more conventional look at address.
DF3
A high-stability head designed to make it harder for the player to twist the face or move the path off line.
VZN.1i
A highly stable, alignment-focused option with a firmer insert feel and strong visual framing behind the ball.
DF2.1
The highest-stability option in the range, ideal for golfers who want maximum help with face control, path consistency and forgiveness.
Length and lie angle fitting
With L.A.B. Golf, length and lie angle are extremely important.
Gone are the days of simply measuring height and wrist-to-floor and guessing a spec from there. In your fitting, we look at how the putter actually sits when you address the ball and how comfortable you are when you start hitting putts.
The process usually involves testing different lengths, checking how the sole sits on the ground, and seeing how your posture and hand position naturally settle over the ball.
Once we have a likely length, we then dial in the lie angle. This is checked both statically and dynamically, because golfers do not always set up the same way in a measurement position as they do when actually hitting putts.
The aim is simple: the putter should sit correctly, feel natural, and allow you to return the face consistently.
Shaft lean, launch and roll quality
One of the most important parts of a L.A.B. Golf fitting is understanding how shaft lean affects your launch, roll and start direction.
Some L.A.B. models are built with shaft lean, while others are available in 0 lean options. This can influence the effective loft of the putter, how the hands sit at address, and how the face behaves through impact.
During the fitting, we look at whether you need help launching the ball slightly higher, lowering launch, improving forward roll, reducing a push tendency or reducing a pull tendency.
A good putter fitting is not just about looks. It is about getting the ball to launch and roll properly so your pace control improves and the ball has a better chance of taking the break you have read.
Grip and shaft options
The grip and shaft can make a big difference to both performance and feel.
Different L.A.B. grip options can change effective loft depending on how much shaft lean they encourage. Some players suit a smaller or more traditional grip, while others benefit from a thicker grip that helps quieten the hands.
We can also test different shaft options, from standard steel through to premium graphite options, depending on the build, feel preference and level of feedback you want from the putter.
Some golfers prefer a softer, more muted feel. Others want firmer feedback so they can sense strike quality more clearly. The fitting helps match the complete build to the player, not just the head shape.
Face feel and pace control
Feel matters.
Some L.A.B. models offer a softer aluminium face, while others use a stainless steel insert that creates a firmer feel and faster ball speed from the face. This can influence how confident you feel from different distances and how well you control pace.
If you tend to hit putts too far past the hole, a softer-feeling option may help you become more aggressive without the ball coming off too quickly.
If you tend to leave putts short or become tentative, a firmer insert may help the ball travel with more conviction.
This is why testing matters. The best putter on paper is only the best putter if it works for you.
Counterbalance, armlock and alternative builds
Because we carry a wide L.A.B. demo selection, we can also explore different build styles when needed.
A counterbalanced putter can be useful for golfers who struggle with pace control, tempo or a jerky stroke.
An armlock build may suit players who have overactive hands through impact or need help controlling loft and face rotation.
A sweeper-style build can be an option for golfers who want a more upright, body-driven putting motion and have struggled with more conventional methods.
Not every golfer needs something different, but having the option to test these builds properly is a big advantage.
